With an impressive career spanning 23 years, Coach Adam Williams brings a wealth of experience and a track record of success to the diamond. This season marks his 15th year as a head coach and his 8th year leading the Pickens High School Dragons baseball program.
During his tenure at Pickens, Coach Williams has established a culture of excellence. His teams have consistently demonstrated dominance, particularly against regional opponents, boasting a remarkable 61−5 record versus schools in the mountains. Under his guidance, the Dragons have become a perennial playoff contender, making six postseason appearances. The program has achieved significant milestones in recent years, with the 2025 team making a historic run to the Final Four, the 2024 team reaching the Elite Eight, and the 2023 and 2022 teams advancing to the Sweet Sixteen.
Coach Williams is dedicated to player development and helping his athletes reach the next level. He has successfully mentored 20 collegiate players, with six of those athletes signing to play highly competitive Division I baseball.
His expertise is sought after beyond the high school field. In the summer, he coaches with the prestigious Canes travel baseball organization. His commitment to the sport is further highlighted by his work with USA Baseball and his role with the Perfect Game Select Festival. Additionally, Coach Williams serves the broader baseball community by working with the Georgia Dugout Club, where he is instrumental in planning their annual coaches' clinic.
Coach Williams is supported by his wife, Kelly, and their two daughters, Presley and Lucy.
