Wrestling
Pickens Wrestling’s inaugural season was in 1985, coached by Tom Judkins. Coach Judkins laid the foundation for one of the most successful athletic programs at Pickens High School. In nearly 40 years as a program, the Dragons have produced numerous state champions, dozens of state placers, and multiple student athletes that have successfully competed at the collegiate level. Along with fostering wrestlers on the mats, Pickens Wrestling has developed a culture in which we strive to develop our wrestlers into productive members of society and our community, while holding a standard of athletic and academic excellence.

Coach Cody Westray
Coach Cody Westray is stepping into his eighth year in coaching as the newly appointed Head Wrestling Coach at Pickens High School. He joins the Dragons after a seven-year tenure at Cambridge High School in Milton, where he served as the Associate Head Wrestling Coach and assistant football coach.
Coach Westray has a deep-rooted history in Georgia’s wrestling community, coaching wrestlers at the club level from youth all the way up through the high school ranks. A native of Forsyth County, Westray attended West Forsyth High School and later wrestled at Darton College before earning his degree from the University of North Georgia.
When he isn’t leading student-athletes, Coach Westray teaches in the PHS Physical Education Department. Off campus, he is fully supported in his coaching career by his family—his wife,Olivia, and their daughter, Eden. Coach Westray is extremely grateful and excited to build on the program's recent momentum and lead Dragon Wrestling into a dominant new chapter.
